Step 1: First make sure your sewing machine is plugged in properly then place the original spool containing the thread you want to use on the spool pin.

Step 2: Now you will come and take the thread which you will pass through the path, then into the small hole of your bobbin (not the opening of the bobbin) as shown in the images below.

Step 3: Then you will place the bobbin on its support then pass the thread through the hook to cut it.

Step 4: There you go, make sure you have switched the winder regulator to the left to start automatic winding of your bobbin. When finished, cut the wire connecting to the spool.

Step 5: Then remove the bobbin case cover. Place your bobbin with the end of the free thread that you will pass through the path as shown in the image below then replace the cover.

At phase F, make sure the wire is cut.

Step 6: Now you will take the thread from your original spool which you will pass through the thread guide of your machine. Follow the numbers indicated on your machine, without forgetting to pass your thread through the needle notch (6), into the needle threader notch (7) then cut the thread on the side of your machine (8). Then, lower the threading lever to activate the automatic needle threader to pass the thread through the eye of your needle then pass your thread through the slot in the presser foot to unclutter your sewing space.

Step 7: Finally, pass fabric under the presser foot then press the middle button corresponding to the needle position which will lower and raise the needle to collect the bobbin thread. By removing the fabric, the thread will detach itself from the fabric.

There you go, you can sew now!

Sew letters with the HZL-DX3 sewing machine:

Settings for sewing letters are as simple as decorative stitches. Personalize your clothes and accessories with this program including 3 alphabet writing styles: uppercase, lowercase and cursive (uppercase and lowercase).

Before making the adjustments, replace your standard presser foot with the manual buttonhole presser foot, this will be indicated by an I. If you are in doubt when to replace the standard presser foot, the top cover indicates the foot to use for each program.

Then to select your letters, press “ ABC ” which will allow you to choose the type of writing. Use the arrows to choose the desired writing style and press " ok ".

You can now select the letters of your choice. If you want to use the other letters displayed on a number, you will have to press the same key several times and relatively quickly.

Example: Press " 5 " once if you want the letter J, wait 2 seconds then press " 8 " twice consecutively if you want the letter U and so on to form your word.

And that's it, all you have to do is place your fabric, lower the presser foot, and press the pedal. The machine will take care of the sewing and feed your fabric as you go.

How to overcast with the HZL-DX3 sewing machine:

Overcasting is a technique used in sewing to finish and protect the edges of a fabric to prevent them from fraying. When you cut a fabric, the threads that make it up can come apart easily, which can damage the fabric and make your creations look sloppy. Overcasting involves sewing a line of tight stitches along the edge of the fabric to reinforce it and prevent the threads from coming loose.

Adjusting the overcasting is very simple but first of all you must replace your standard presser foot with the overcasting presser foot which is indicated by a C.

First of all, you will press the “ 123 ” key to select the program in question then “ ok ” to move on to the next step.

Type in the desired overcasting stitch number which is indicated under the top cover of the machine then press “ ok ”. You can only choose points from 07 to 11 as they are overcasting.

And There you go! Place your fabric, lower the presser foot, step on your foot pedal and let your machine create the seam. Do not hesitate to press on the heel of your pedal to use the thread cutter function.
