How to use Jersey Punto fabric?
For a clean result, favor a stretch or jersey needle, generally of size 75 to 90 depending on the fabric thickness. These needles prevent skipped stitches and preserve the fabric's elasticity without damaging it.
For thread, choose a good quality polyester thread, more resistant than cotton and better suited for stretch fabrics. For main seams, a stretch stitch (light zigzag or lightning stitch) is recommended to maintain the flexibility of the seams.
The use of an overlocker is a plus, but not essential. A classic sewing machine equipped with the right foot and well adjusted will do perfectly. Finally, remember to iron gently on the reverse side to preserve the fabric's structure.
