How to use Punto Jersey fabric?
For a clean result, choose a stretch or jersey needle , generally size 75 to 90 depending on the thickness of the fabric. These needles prevent skipped stitches and preserve the fabric's elasticity without damaging it.
For thread, choose a good quality polyester thread , which is stronger than cotton and better suited to stretch fabrics. For main seams, a stretch stitch (light zigzag or flash stitch) is recommended to maintain the flexibility of the seams.
Using an overlocker is a plus, but not essential. A classic sewing machine equipped with the right foot and properly adjusted will do the job perfectly. Finally, remember to iron with a low heat on the reverse side to preserve the structure of the fabric.
