What is quilted fabric?

Quilted fabric is a textile made up of three layers: an outer face, a filling (often wadding or fleece), and an inner face. These layers are sewn together to create geometric patterns (diamonds, checks, waves, etc.), giving it its distinctive raised effect.
Hard-wearing, soft and insulating, it stands out for its ability to retain heat while remaining lightweight and pleasant to work with.
