The fabric quantities below come from our fabric quantity guide, for a width of 130 to 142 cm.

• Blouses: 1.60 m
• Shirts: 1.60 m
• Dresses: 1.30 m to 3 m
• Skirts: 70 cm to 2 m
• Trousers: 1.20 m to 2.50 m
• Pyjamas: 2.50 m to 3.50 m
• Evening dresses: 2.10 m to 3 m

For example, for a blouse, allow 1.60 m and add a little extra if the fabric has a pattern that needs matching.

In practice, a width of 130 to 142 cm often allows you to cut two pieces side by side. There is no need to pre-wash the fabric: ours is already pre-washed and will not shrink as long as it is washed at 30 degrees.
