Tutorial: How to Make a Tug Toy for Dogs

Learn how to make a tug toy, the perfect plaything for your dog, with our simple and practical guide.

If you have a very playful dog but it does not play with its toys, then do not waste your money in vain. Instead, we suggest you make your own dog tug with this easy no-sew tutorial. A simple, effective, and fun activity to do with the family!

To start, you will only need two things:

• fleece fabric
• And a pair of scissors.

You can choose between 1, 2, or 4 different colours. Feel free to vary the colours. Find all our fleece fabrics by clicking here.

Step 1: Spread your fleece fabric on a flat surface, cut 4 strips about 7 cm x 150 cm. They do not have to be perfect but do not hesitate to use heavy objects to keep the fabric in place.

If you have 2 colours, cut 2 strips of each. If you have 4, cut only one of each.

Step 2: Make a knot by joining the 4 ends of the strips, pull tight and separate the ends as shown in the image below so that one end is at the top, another at the bottom, and the other two to the left and right.

Step 3: Make a loop on the top and bottom strips, pass the left and right strips through the loops and pull. Do not hesitate to tighten well, the fabric is strong enough and will not fray. Continue this way until you have 20 cm of fabric left.
