Jersey Cotton
Cotton jersey, one of the most used fabrics in the world for millennia, was discovered in Asia, then in the 1700s it made its appearance in Europe. Cotton is a vegetable fiber that surrounds a shrub the cotton plant. When it blooms with its beautiful white or yellow five-petalled flowers, cotton finally appears as small balls and is ready to be harvested for your future sewing pleasure.
Mainly used to make tee-shirts, toilet gloves, towels, you can "mistreat" it quite well, cotton is a very flexible and robust fabric, it has several very beneficial features, absorbency and therefore is extremely water resistant, cotton has other advantages, it has an insulating power and withstands heat very well, it is a natural material. This is why it is the most used and sold fabric in the world.
