BERNINA 580 Liberty Edition: Swiss engineering dressed by Liberty London
The BERNINA 580 Liberty Edition is a Series 5 sewing and embroidery machine, produced in a limited edition to mark the collaboration between BERNINA and the London design house Liberty. Its faceplate features the Glen Lyon Blooms pattern, redesigned and hand-painted in the Liberty studios. The M embroidery module with Smart Drive Technology (SDT) is included, as are the matching trolley set and dust cover.
What are the features of the BERNINA 580 Liberty Edition?
It combines a 4.3" color touchscreen, a 9 mm stitch width, a 6 mm stitch length and 1,482 stitches in total, including 32 exclusive Liberty decorative stitches. For embroidery: 349 built-in designs, including 91 Liberty designs, 7 embroidery alphabets and an embroidery area of 400 × 150 mm. The BERNINA hook and Jumbo bobbin enable speeds of up to 1,000 stitches per minute.
How do you use the BERNINA 580 Liberty Edition?
The touchscreen provides access to stitches, designs and settings, with switching between sewing and embroidery modes. Adaptive BERNINA thread tension automatically adjusts the tension, Dual Transport feeds the fabric from above and below, and the free-hand system (FHS) raises the presser foot with your knee. The extended free arm provides 215 mm to the right of the needle, making it easy to handle a large quilt comfortably.
