How to thread the JUKI MO-214D serger in summary?

Begin by unplugging the machine for safety. Place the four spools on the spool holders, following the color code marked on the machine. This visual guide makes thread identification easier, especially during the first uses.

Start threading with the upper looper (blue thread). Pass the thread through the slots of the thread guide then through the tension discs and follow the path shown in the manual or our explanatory video.

Continue with the lower looper (red thread). Pass it also through its tension discs, then through the guides dedicated to the lower looper threading. Make sure the red thread passes above the blue thread to avoid any malfunction during sewing.

Next, move on to threading the needles. The yellow thread corresponds to the left needle, and the green thread to the right needle. Follow the thread guides to the needle eyes, then insert the threads using the automatic needle threader.

Once all the threads are in place, you can lower the presser foot, place your fabric, and start sewing. You will notice that the seam result is clean, both on the right and wrong sides, thanks to the precise threading and the optimal tension adjustment.
